Bisexual Resources

The bisexual landscape has changed dramatically over the last decade. While several of the best known organizations and web sites of the nineties continue to maintain their web sites, they are mostly an important historical reference rather than a reflection of the current bisexual landscape.
The new bisexual resources emerge from the social scene rather than from the traditional activist grounds. The current generation favors the club scene over community center meetings and conferences. They tend to live their bisexuality more so than talking about it. They do join bisexual groups and clubs, but primarily for the social networking opportunities they offer. Instead of carrying Bi Pride flags, they wear Bi Pride jewelry. They hang out in any open-minded social setting, be it straight, gay or lesbian.

  A Meeting of Bi Individuals
AMBI is a social/activism type of group, which means that it is not a support group.  Although some members may be more out than others, and friendly mentoring might happen as a result, AMBI promotes "normal" everyday conversation at meetings and events.
AMBI meetings/events are held in public places and hip hangouts around Los Angeles.

The Bisexual Underground aims to be a new sort of night out for London's bisexuals while also being a very traditional night out for Londoners. Open every second Tuesday of the month, from 6 p.m. until the bar staff wearily implore us to leave - it's a relaxed night out with a focus on fun.
The web site is very clear about what the group is about: "You don't have to be bisexual to come, we welcome not only bisexuals and their partners but anyone curious about sexuality. You won't find us all sitting in one big circle having a debate the state of Queer Britain though - we're mainly here for the beer."

The Bisexual Resource Center is a formally registered non-profit organization based in Boston, USA. They maintain a broad range of references and resources on their web site, although much of it reflects events and conferences of the past. It is nevertheless one of the few bisexual resources on the web today with relatively recent information.

Extensive reference, resources and information from all over the world. If it was once alive somewhere, it is listed here. Unfortunately, updates are infrequent and dead references never seem to be removed. But like the Bisexual Resource Center, it is still a useful site despite the dead links  and links to web sites that have not been updated in several years.

The official site of the American Institute of Bisexuality, originally founded by Fritz Klein in 1998. Once a very active and frequently updated site with even free bisexual personal ads. You can still find a good description of the Klein Sexual Orientation Grid and an extensive bio of Dr. Fritz Klein. The remainder is mostly made up of links to other sites.

The official site of the BiNet USA, the oldest national bisexual organization in the US. As interest in local and regional activism faded in the last decade, so has the national organization. While still alive today, there is little activity reflected on their web site. Worth visiting for the history of bisexual activism in the US well recounted on their Bi History Timeline.
